There's no better way to dip your pizza, pasta, or garlic bread than with this easy 10-Minute Homemade Marinara Sauce recipe.

INGREDIENTS

– 2 Tablespoons olive oil – 2 garlic cloves, minced – 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoe – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 1 teaspoon sugar – 1/8 teaspoon fresh black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Place a medium saucepan on medium-low heat. After warming the olive oil for 1 minute, add the garlic and sauté for 2 minutes, stirring regularly, until golden brown and fragrant.

Step 1

Stir in smashed tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer the sauce for 7 minutes, stirring regularly, then add salt, pepper, or sugar to taste.

Step 2

The crushed tomato kind you use will determine the strongest marinara sauce flavor. My favorite brand is San Marzano Crushed Tomatoes.
