FOR THE PASTRIES:– 1 (8.6-ounce) sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed– 1/3 cup apple butter– 1/4 cup (30g) chopped pecans (or other nuts)– 2 tablespoons toffee bitFOR THE GLAZE:– 1/2 cup (55g) confectioners' sugar– 2 to 3 teaspoons milk
Apple Butter Pinwheels Recipe
TO MAKE PASTRIES: Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with silicone or parchment.
Step 1
Unfold thawed puff pastry on a gently floured surface. Smooth fold marks with a gentle roll.
Step 2
Cover the pastry with apple butter, leaving a border.
Sprinkle pecans and toffee over apple butter.
Step 3
Roll the pastry tightly from a short end. Trim the ends and cut into 12 slices using a sharp knife.
Step 4
Slice pastries and place cut-side down on pan.
Bake till golden brown, 18–20 minutes. The pastries should cool on the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Add milk slowly until the glaze is thick yet pourable.
Glaze the pastries. Sprinkle chopped pecans on pastries if desired.
