Baked Brie Bites with Jam are a simple, delicious appetizer made with six ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
– 1 (17.3-oz.) package frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed but cold– 1 (8-oz.) wheel Brie cheese, cold– 1/4 cup raspberry, apricot or fig jam– 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans, toasted (optional)– 1 large egg– 1 Tablespoon whole milk
INSTRUCTIONS
Set the oven to 400ºF and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper or Silpats.
Step 1
Unfold each puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Three long rectangles and three 3-inch squares are formed by cutting each puff pastry sheet along the seams lengthwise.
Step 2
Each puff pastry sheet makes 9 squares. Cut Brie into 18 wedges. insert each puff pastry square on the baking sheet and insert a Brie wedge in one corner (leaving a tiny border).
Step 3
Sprinkle chopped nuts over a dab of jam on cheese. Stretch and fold the puff pastry over the cheese to make a triangle from the square corners.
Step 4
Crimp the edges with a fork to seal the puff pastry pocket. Continue filling and crimping the remaining puff pastry. Slit each triangle's top.
Step 5
Brush puff pastry tops with egg and milk mixture. Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Serve puff pastry bits immediately after 5 minutes of cooling from the oven.
