After placing a big saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, pour the oil to the pot or Dutch oven.

Step 1

After it has begun to shimmer, add the onion and continue to sauté it for about three to four minutes, or until it is soft. While stirring, add the garlic and continue to cook for one more minute.
