Oatcakes are the perfect nutritious breakfast! Made with rolled oats and a few cupboard goods, these tasty breakfast bars are easy to make and portable!
– 2 cups rolled oat– 1 cup all-purpose flour– ½ cup brown sugar– 1 teaspoon salt– ½ teaspoon baking soda– ¼ cup maple syrup– ¾ cup butter – ¼ cup boiling water

Set oven temperature to 375°F. Using parchment paper, line a 9-inch square baking sheet.

Combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda in a large basin. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.

The maple syrup and butter should be added, and then the ingredients should be mixed together using a pastry blender or two forks.

Once the mixture is well combined, pour the boiling water over it and stir. The dough should be sticky and thick.

The dough should be pressed into the baking pan that has been prepared until it forms a uniform layer.

While you are scoring the dough and cutting it into squares, you should not separate the dough.

Put the baking pan in the oven and bake it for around twenty to thirty minutes, or until it reaches a golden color.

When you remove the pan, cut the squares along the score lines. While warm, cool into squares.
