Delicious Stuffed Shells With Meat, Cheese And Spinach Recipe
This quick and easy recipe for Stuffed Shells with Meat, Cheese, and Spinach is a favorite Italian comfort food.
INGREDIENTS
– 18 jumbo pasta shell– 1 pound ground beef or other ground meat– /4 cup whole milk ricotta– ▢1 (10-oz.) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained well– 1 large egg– 2 teaspoons ground oregano– 3 cups homemade or store-bought marinara sauce– 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese– Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat the oven to 350°F. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to boil. Add shells and simmer for 9 minutes until al dente. Drain and rinse the shells with cool water, then set aside.
Step 1
Cook ground beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula, until no longer pink. Move the ground beef to a bowl with a slotted spoon to cool.
Step 2
After cooling the ground beef, mix in ricotta cheese, spinach, egg, oregano, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper.
Step 3
Fill a 10-inch pan or baking dish with half the tomato sauce.
Step 4
Place the shells in a baking dish in a single layer with the ground beef mixture. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the shells and the remaining sauce.
Step 5
Bake the shells for 25 minutes until the cheese melts and they start to crisp. Sprinkle Parmesan and basil over the shells before serving.
