The only ingredients in these shortbread cookies are 3. These buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treats are delightful. Traditional holiday cookies baked two ways!
– 1 ½ cups butter – 1 cup icing sugar– 3 cups all-purpose flour
Ingredient
1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Blend the butter in a large basin for 30 seconds with an electric mixer on medium speed.
2
Once the icing sugar is added, stir it up thoroughly. Mix well, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
3
Mix flour slowly until completely combined. Soft, crushed mixture. Bake until just done, 12–15 minutes. Don't brown them.
4
Pat dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving the parchment paper hanging off the sides for easy removal.
5
Instead, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness, knead it just enough to come together, but don't overwork it, and cut into your desired shape.
6
Use parchment paper to lift cookies from a cookie sheet and cut into shapes. Finish cooling cookies on a rack.
