Fried Chicken Recipe

Buttermilk is used to soak this Fried Chicken Recipe, which results in a chicken that is extremely crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. A wonderful and simple dish that is ideal for hosting a game day or getting together with friends and family.  

INGREDIENTS

– 4-poundchickencut into piece – vegetable oil for frying Brine: – 2cupsbuttermilk – 2cupspickle juice – 1/4cuphot sauceoptional Coating: – 2cupsflour – 1tablespoonsalt – 1teaspoonground black pepper – 1tablespoonpaprika – 1tablespoongarlic powder

Cut and remove the chicken backbone. Chicken is normally chopped into 8-10 pieces.

Mix pickle juice and buttermilk in a large bowl. For more heat, add spicy sauce. Add chicken chunks to the mixture. Let stand 30 minutes or refrigerate 24 hours.

Stir flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a medium shallow bowl. Set a wire rack on a baking sheet nearby.

Toss one chicken piece in the flour mixture and lay it on the cooling rack after removing it from the buttermilk. Let it sit 20–30 minutes.

Add the flour mixture to a large baking dish, pour the chicken in, and toss before placing it on the cooling rack to save time.

Half-fill a large/deep frying pan with oil. Fry chicken in batches at 365 degrees, being cautious not to overcrowd. Cook chicken for 10 minutes or more until crispy and golden.

Remove chicken from oil and drain on a cooling rack over paper towels. Use your favorite sauce and enjoy.
