Nashville Hot Chicken – Unbelievably Crispy! Recipe

Nashville Hot Chicken is a spicy fried chicken marinated in pickle brine, buttermilk, and hot sauce and covered with a sweet and spicy sauce that will take your breath away.  

INGREDIENTS

– 1whole chickencut into 8 piece – 2cupsall-purpose flour – 2teaspoonsKosher salt – 1teaspoongarlic powder – 1teaspoononion powder – Vegetable oil for frying Marinade: – 1cupbuttermilk – 1/3cuppickle brine – 2tablespoonsLouisiana-style hot sauceor more if you want it really spicy – 1large egg Sauce: – 1/3cupbutter – 1/4cuplardor use butter instead – 1tablespoonground cayenne pepperyou can use 2 tablespoons if you prefer the sauce spicier – 1tablespoonbrown sugar – 1teaspoonsmoked paprika – 1teaspoongarlic powder – 1/2teaspoonkosher salt – 1/8teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Hot-sauce buttermilk egg bowl.

Toss chicken. Chill the bowl overnight or 2–4 hours under plastic wrap.uncooked buttermilk-marinated chicken pieces

In a shallow plate, mix flour, garlic, onion, and salt. Set aside. Remove chicken from marinade, blot with paper towels, and place on dish or cutting board. Keep marinade.

Flour chicken pieces evenly. All chicken sides should be marinated. Drip more into dish.

Fry chicken pieces 8 minutes per side to 160°F (70°).In a paper-towel-linedbaking pan, drain fried chicken on a wire rack.After 5 minutes, brush sauce on chicken both sides.
