Quick Homemade Burger Buns Without Yeast Recipe

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling out bun – 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 3/4 cup milk, warmed  – 2 Tablespoons olive oil – 1 large egg white, mixed with 1 Tablespoon water – Sesame seeds, for topping (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt in a big bowl with a whisk.

Step 1

Mix the milk and olive oil with a spatula. After lightly flouring your work area, turn out the dough and knead it for 1 minute until it becomes a smooth ball. 

Step 2

Rest the dough for 15 minutes under a moist towel. Preheat the oven to 400°F before baking. Parchment a baking sheet.

Step 3

First, lightly flour your work surface, then cut the dough into 6 equal pieces. Form balls and flatten them into 4-inch disks.

Step 4

Put the buns on the lined baking sheet at least 2 inches apart. Brush egg white wash on bun tops and sprinkle sesame seeds (optional).

Step 5

Bake the buns 18–22 minutes until golden brown and no longer doughy. Slice and serve the buns after cooling from the oven.
